The PNP unveils a Robocop ripoff mascot to improve its image to the masses

Posted in Rants! with tags , , , on July 7, 2009 by Santo Muerte

So the Philippine National Police(PNP) unveiled its newest mascot to improve its image to the public & it resembles the action movie hero Robocop. Now Filipinos aren’t exactly known for their originality, but unless the PNP paid Orion Pictures to use the likeness of Robocop(which I highly doubt), they shouldn’t even be using it because it would be a clear violation of copyright & intellectual property rights, which is ironic for a law enforcement agency.

As noble as the PNP’s intentions are, it’s overshadowed by its cheap imitation of a movie character. I guess the message the PNP is trying to convey is that it’s better to be perceived as copycats than to be perceived as corrupt, big-bellied, trigger-happy scalawags.

I WON’T buy that for a dollar.

The Hayden Kho-llection

Posted in Film & TV with tags , , , , , on May 21, 2009 by Santo Muerte

I love it when Karma comes back to bite the guilty in the ass.

Apparently, that’s what happened to sexy starlet Katrina Halili & actor/model/cosmetic surgeon Dr.Haydon Kho, when a video of them engaging in “bedroom acrobatics” have surfaced, along with other videos of Dr. Kho banging other women. Both were already in serious relationships with other people when the video was made, with Dr.Kho being popularly known as the boyfriend of Dr.Vicky Belo, cosmetic surgeon to the stars & a celebrity in her own right.

The controversy surrounding the leaked sex videos reached fever pitch on Wednesday when Ms. Halili went to the NBI(National Bureau of Investigation) & filed charges against Dr. Kho, blaming him for spreading the sex videos & portraying herself as the victim but the truth is she’s the victim of her own dishonesty & stupidy. I mean, in this day & age of Youtube, Facebook, Rapidshare & countless internet messageboards did she really expect videos which she allowed to be taken of her banging some guy to NOT reach the internet? Now we have Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. doing what politicians do best–acting like hypocrites–by calling Hayden Kho a “pervert” & threatening to revoke his license. Wow. I mean, this is coming from a guy whose dad, former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr., was such a notorious philandering horndog during his day that he has allegedly fathered 100 children with different women. At least Hayden Kho wore a condom.

In my opinion they can’t charge Hayden Kho with anything. This controversy was just a case of videos made by consenting adults for private viewing getting leaked on the internet & the reason people want him punished is simply because he’s a stud who can easily get women.

Okay, now that I’m done ranting click the links below to download the Hayden Kho-llection of videos:

Something funny happens whenever I pass by the billboard above on my way to work. I feel something squirm inside my pants & my mind is flooded with thoughts about things that I would do to the chick in case I find her lying in my bed naked with her legs spread. The chick’s name of course is R.R. Enriquez & I have magazine scans of her for all you red-blooded males(and lesbians) out there. What I find funny is that she was quoted saying things like “I can do 12 guys in one night” or “I would totally go for a guy who can make me cum every hour, every minute, every second”. Really now. Exactly how many times have you been gangbanged by 12 guys eh, Ms. Hornypants? I dare you to go inside a jail cell by yourself & say those things in front of all those sex-starved inmates & you’ll definitely get much more than what you’ve bargained for. Either she’s taking the horny nymphomaniac shtick a little too far or she works as a part-time phone sex operator. Click the thumbnails for a larger image.

And of course, no R.R. Enriquez post would be complete without the infamous topless calendar pics. Click here & fap away!

“A nation of servants”

Posted in Rants! with tags , , , , on April 4, 2009 by Santo Muerte

There has been much uproar on different blogs & forums on the interwebs over an article some columnist for a Hong Kong magazine named Chip Tsao wrote about Filipinos. Although his article was an attempt on satire, as much as I hate to admit it there’s actually some truth to it. Now before I get called a race traitor, let me point out that Filipinos also have their own share of “racist” slurs. We call Indians “5-6”, we call blacks “egoys” & we call avid Willie Revillame fans “bisaya”, so IMO it’s just pure hypocrisy to call the guy who wrote the article a racist.

Look, we all know that even if you have a college degree it’s still hard to get a high-paying job here in the Philippines, that’s why a lot of Filipinos are looking for jobs overseas to give their families better, more comfortable lives. Sadly, that’s also the reason why the definition of “success” for most Filipinos is being able to work abroad & earn big bucks. It’s also the reason why professionals like teachers & doctors here apply as domestic helpers & nurses abroad, all for the sake of getting paid more. With everything that’s been said, can you still blame Mr. Tsao for having a low opinion of us?

This is what I don’t get: Filipinos can easily swallow their pride when they apply for blue-collar jobs like maids or janitors abroad even though they have college degrees or are already established professionals in their own country just for the sake earning more, yet their pride gets easily hurt when someone points out that fact to them. Sure it’s not our fault we can’t earn as much here compared to going abroad, but if you want to stop people like Chip Tsao from maligning us, then make sure you vote for leaders who would create legislation that would increase the minimum wage here in our country & who would give more benefits & protection to Filipino workers & also leaders who aren’t corrupt & won’t steal from our coffers. Well, good luck with the last part.

Francis Magalona, 1964-2009

In light of the recent passing of Philippine rap legend Francis Magalona, I feel I had to write some sort of tribute to him considering I’ve been a long-time fan. First time I “discovered” him was on Alma Moreno’s now-defunct show in IBC 13 (God, I’m so old) during my elementary days. Then “Mga Kababayan Ko” became a big hit & that was when I really became a fan. I’ve memorized that damn song’s lyrics & still know it by heart. A few years passed & I’ve never heard anything from him, but when I reached high school a friend of mine let me borrow a couple of his Francis M records, namely his “Freeman” & “Happy Battle” albums & was completely blown away. Most people may know him as a rapper, TV host & actor but he was also a gifted songwriter. He didn’t just write run-of-the-mill rap songs. He’s managed to seamlessly combine elements of funk, rock, Rn’B, hiphop, metal & traditional Filipino music with an added touch of Pinoy humor to create a sound that is uniquely his own & uniquely Filipino. Songs like “Baw-waw-waw”, “Lab Song”, “Ayoko Sa Dilim”, “Wag Kang Tumawa”, “Girl Be Mine” & the anthemic “Kaleidoscope World” have left a permanent mark in my consciousness.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him perform live when I was in college. I just broke up with my girlfriend then so I needed some distraction, & the guy never failed to deliver. I’ve been drinking before I went to that show, but his energetic stage presence sobered me up that night. It was one of the best live performances I’ve seen.

When I heard he died it was like losing a close friend, & I try my best not to cry whenever a tribute clip to him is shown on TV. He was a great loss to the Philippine music industry & he will be dearly missed. Thank you for the music & the inspiration, Kiko.

The king is dead. Long live the king.

Ortigas Mega Plaza Condominium suicide

Posted in gruesome with tags , on March 5, 2009 by Santo Muerte

Someone took these pics of an apparent suicide that occurred last February 24 at the Mega Plaza Plaza Condominium in Ortigas City. What’s weird is that this incident was not reported in the news & doing an internet search also yielded no results. Warning: Some of the images are graphic. Click the thumbnails for the pics.

Ateneo defeats La Salle to claim the 2008 UAAP Championship – so what?

Posted in Rants! with tags , , , , , on October 5, 2008 by Santo Muerte

The long-standing rivalry between these two schools has come to an end–for now, when the Ateneo Blue Eagles finally defeated the La Salle Green Archers 62-51 to claim the UAAP crown in a sweep of the best-of-three series. From what I’ve heard about 23,000 people saw the game at the Araneta Coliseum. I could only imagine the crowd’s energy as they cheered for their favorite teams with fiery passion. It must have been great to experience first hand the intensity. The drama. The crowd going in a frenzy.

What a load of horseshit. No, really.

Everyone knows that only rich folks could afford to study in schools like Ateneo or La Salle & any competition between these two institutions is nothing more than a glorified pissing contest between rival groups of rich, priviledged brats trying to outdo each other. Let’s face it. Being a student of such schools like Ateneo or La Salle is a status symbol, like having a Ferrari or a three-storey mansion. Is it really “school spirit” and “love of alma mater” or is it elitism? It’s like a beauty contest: No matter what they say, it’s in essence a measure of how “fuckable” a woman is. If pageant organisers disagree, then they should remove the swimsuit portion altogether. It’s doubtful that a Miss Universe broadcast would rate as high without it.

“Mang Pandoy” dies at 63

Posted in Random with tags , , , , on September 10, 2008 by Santo Muerte

Felipe Natanio aka “Mang Pandoy”, the man who symbolized millions of poor, struggling Filipinos, has died. He gained “celebrity” status in 1992 during President Fidel Ramos’ State Of The Nation speech when he vowed to make the lives of people like him better. Guess what, Mang Pandoy was still poor when he died. While it’s true that the government didn’t do enough to improve the lives of poor Filipinos like Mang Pandoy, I think they’re just partly to blame for the problem of poverty in this country. Mang Pandoy was just earning 50 pesos a day yet he had eight children. You don’t need the government to tell you that having more children than what you’re actually earning will give you financial woes. I think this is the problem in general with most poor Filipino families. It’s also the reason I’m totally for birth control which the Catholic Church, in all its infinite wisdom, is vehemently opposing, but that’s another topic altogether. Having a College degree greatly increases someone’s chances of having a better life, but you won’t be able to give that kind of education to your children if you’re earning below minimum wage & you have twelve of them. So if you’re a minimum wage earner who has twelve kids & constantly blames the government for all your problems, remember this: While it’s true that we get screwed by the government on a daily basis, they sure as hell didn’t screw your wife & made her give birth to your twelve children.
